Why Program Costs Vary so Greatly
If you have searched online for volunteer placements, you quickly learned that
you can spend a thousand dollars or more for a short term volunteer assignment.
Some organizations provide airport pickup, volunteer orientation, language
lessons, and a full range of services. Other organizations welcome your
assistance with their free volunteer programs, but offer no housing or other
services. Due to the wide variety of programs and accommodations, the associated
costs can range from free, to low cost, and up to thousands of dollars per
