The Cyntax Foundation was founded in 2007 after a year spent in Southern
Thailand following the December 26, 2004 tsunami. Its founder lived in Khao Lak
and Phuket Island in Southern Thailand and worked with a number of humanitarian
agencies, families and individuals as part of the world's efforts to help that
region heal from its tremendous loss.
The Cyntax Foundation is a philanthropic organization established to commit its
resources to activities intended to aid in the empowerment of at-risk indigenous
groups of women and children in Southeast Asia. Initially projects will be
undertaken in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar - with eventual
expansion of programming into the Indian subcontinent. This work will be
accomplished through initiatives such as micro-lending, SME (small to medium
enterprises) technical assistance, and capacity building through education and
training.
Cyntax Foundation is also constantly looking at how new and innovative
technologies can benefit remote communities in areas such as drinking water
purification, small-scale power generation, agricultural productivity, and
communications. |
